The Saleen S7 - The Airplane of Cars pics
The Saleen S7 is one of the most amazing cars now days. This car not only looks nice, but is also one of the highest performing cars on the road. The S7 has 750 hp (horse powers) and this power is achieved with a engine that is only 7 liters, something American car manufacturers can only dream about. Whit these specks it is not surprising that the S7's top speed is 248 mph. Just to give you an idea of how fast that is I made a little comparison. The average takeoff speed for the commercial airplane Boeing 737 is 180 mph (source: http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/performance/q0088.shtml) check it if you don't believe me. So this car is basically a airplane on the ground. Actually it is faster then a airplane on the ground, if it had wings it would be an airplane.
This is a nice car with some serious performance, but its not for anybody, as you might have figured out already. The price for a brand new Saleen S7 is about $ 555, 000., so you might want to brake a lot of piggy banks before you could afford one.

2010 Saleen S281 Mustang Sports Car 4.6 liter V8 Engine
2010 Saleen S281 Mustang Performance Vehicles revealed their new S281 model based on 2010 Ford Mustang, prepared for this year’s SEMA show. They say it’s a car for enthusiasts who are looking for an exhilarating driving experience, with refined driveability for real-world road conditions.This package is honestly oneof the coolest Mustang we’ve seen for this car,Saleen has took a more elegant approach designing this car than tuners usually do. It comes with modified front and rear fascia that makes it even more muscular.

2010 Saleen Mustang S281 is powered by a 4.6 liter V8 with Saleen Series VI.5 twin-screw supercharger and dual-stage intercooler. It chucks out 485 hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. This power is delivered to the rear wheels through a a short-throw, five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with 3.73:1 final drive ratio.

As for chassis tuning, Saleen has provided this car with a racing grade suspension. It includes specially tuned, single-rate front and rear springs;
nitrogen-pressurized front struts and rear shocks with a wide range of damping adjustments; and a specially tuned front sway bar with performance pivot bushings.
The S281 is also fitted with 20-inch, 7-spoke alloy wheels with Pirelli P-Zero Rosso high-performance tires.

For the interior Saleen offers leather sport seats with Ultra-Suede inserts, highlighted by chevron-like Ultra-Suede red tabs in the seatback bolsters,and unique treatments of the gauges, steering wheel, center console and shifter. There also are contrasting Saleen logos in the door panels, and Saleen logos in the door sill plates that illuminate when the door is opened.

Mustang Saleen S7 Twin Turbo Design Sport Car
Saleen knows all about power. As in S281 Mustangs, N2O Focuses and the S7, America’s first (and still the only) mid-engine exotic supercar. When it went on sale in 2002, the S7 was the only street-legal car in the U.S. with more than 500 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. The media and S7 owners have raved about the car since it first smoked the rear tires in anger. And it has been recognized by numerous automotive magazines as the fastest production car in the world. But during the past three years the automobile marketplace has witnessed an explosion of performance with models from manufacturers including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Chevrolet touting power numbers above the once magic 500 level.
Designed by Saleen engineers, the S7's engine and drivetrain incorporate the latest in modern racing technology. The new all-aluminum V8 engine casting was engineered and tooled by Saleen to displace seven liters. Redline is 6500 rpm. Space age materials and engineering are used throughout, including stainless steel valves, titanium retainers, beryllium exhaust valve seats, an aluminum throttle body, Saleen designed aluminum CNC-machined cylinder heads and stainless steel exhaust system. An exclusive Saleen-designed Front Engine Accessory Drive (FEAD) system results in an extremely compact engine, allowing for better packaging and overall weight distribution. The V8 incorporates a unique Saleen-designed side-mounted water pump, a belt-driven camshaft drive and a Saleen-engineered dry sump oil delivery system. The engine's mid-chassis placement optimizes weight distribution and center of gravity, making room for an unusually tall engine that allows for a very efficient induction system.
