motorsports |car modification | new car auto show | Interactive Design Competition by CDN/Opel

Car Design News in collaboration with Opel/Vauxhall have launched a design competition that asks car design students to create a new car in two steps – for the interior and the exterior. The first deadline is next 10 December 2010.
Metropolitan Lounge by Danilo Castagnino Open to students studying at design schools in Europe, the Interactive Design Competition is divided in two stages.
The first stage concerns the creation of a car interior and is based on the brief ‘A lounge in motion’.
Participant designers are asked to create a lounge-inspired interior that should fit the Opel/Vauxhall brand and its design philosophy, “sculptural artistry meets German precision”.
The judges will consider not only the finished works, but also the designers’ participation in the community.
The winning designer will receive a paid internship at Opel’s design studio in Russelsheim, Germany.
The contest entries can be viewed and commented at www.cardesigncontest.com.
